A generally hardy orchid for the garden, in a well drained soil and light shade or can be grown in a pot in frame or cold greenhouse. Flowering from June to July. They prefer a neutral to alkaline compost with added a little added humus. Large purple flowers, occasionally white marked deeper purple on the frilled lip, flower stems up to 30cm in height
