North American woodland bulb needing a well drained acid soil and planted about 7cm deep. Very attractive finely cut greyish-green foliage and flowers on short stems in March-April. Dormant in summer, naturally small bulbs.

Dicentra cucullaria

Commonly called Dutchmans Breeches, white flowers with a yellow nose, to 15cm. This unusual hardy North American woodland bulb needs a well drained cool, moisture retentive acid soil.
